How to Farm with Barrage?
I'm trying to figure out how to farm using my ranger.
I've been trying using barrage against three minotaurs outside augury rock, i can't seem to kill them before they kill me. I've been using whirling defence, lightning reflexes and dryders defence, giving a total of 34 seconds of blocking. (all those are stances) So i've still been unable to kill them. I'm a R/W 20, using druid's forge armor, with a earth max dmg bow, +14% dmg always. Any suggestions? |

Add Throw Dirt for stop their melee attacks, and also Bard trap to make them bleed, also use Poision arrow or apply Posion to hurt them more.
It not just about defence |

i'm a fan of using conjures+barrage for PvE. i got sick of not being able to do anything by myself with my r/me, so i switched to r/e
the build i am playing around with is real simple, there are alot of places I can't farm solo, but maybe after someone looks at this they can give it some review, and flame me. whirling, troll, conjure, barrage, dual, predator pounce, confort animal, charm animal |

You should definitely try using traps instead of Barrage. Pack Barbed Trap, Flame Trap, Healing Spring, and replace Barrage with Oath Shot. Throw Dirt is crucial here, as are the evasive stances. Troll's Unguent is quite effective here as well, since you'll want a high Wilderness Survival for the traps.
Just repeatedly blind the mob, lay your traps, and recharge everything with Oath Shot when your skills are all used. Use the stances to minimize hits, and use Troll's Unguent and Healing Spring to keep yourself healthy when the odd blows do get through. It works quite well once you get the hang of it, and I use this method myself to solo melee mobs. Last edited by Nequam; Jul 21, 2005 at 12:34 PM // 12:34.. Reason: Typo |

go cap Melandrus Resiliance for fighting ele's and mesmers.
don't bother using Barrage(unless you have a 5:1 vamp bow) it's useless for farming(it's not that great in general). setup as a trapper. Expertise 13 Wilderness Survival 13 Marksmanship 7(try to get a low req bow) then Barbed Trap Flame Trap Dust Trap Throw Dirt Whirling Defense Serpents Quickness(or energizing winds + quickening zephyr) Melandrus Resiliance you may want to think about switching to Mo secondary so you can use Mend and Healing BREEZE. Otherwise you'll have to make due with Troll Ungeont and Healing Spring. Edit: can you tell I didn't get enough sleep last night thanks Last edited by Algren Cole; Jul 21, 2005 at 04:09 PM // 16:09.. |

i agree with Algren Cole that Barrage is generally not that great unless you have a perfect vampiric string. For farming as a Ranger, you have to go with traps because it is very difficult to farm with a Ranger.

Healing spring is a ranger skill, not monk.
